About us

David Melvill was born in Cape Town, he attended Rondebosch Boys’ Schools, and thereafter studied to be a teacher at the University of Stellenbosch.

He taught for six months in East London before joining Sanlam for nine years. He rose to the rank of branch manager. He practiced as a financial advisor in both East London and Cape Town.

He enjoyed presenting Financial Focus, a weekly radio program for approximately 3 years on each of the community radios, both Link FM (East London) and CCFM radio (Cape Town).

He is a competent Toastmaster and loves presenting investment seminars. He is an aspiring journalist and has written financial articles for BizNews, Moneyweb, Gateway News and more recently the Montagu Mail.

David found fulfillment in practicing as a financial planner and an investment advisor, where he managed monies for a total of 35 years. He is no longer involved in this field.

He now focuses purely on educating people on the valuable role of precious metals: gold and silver, their role in the economy and their necessity for a balanced portfolio.

David is fascinated by the history of gold. He has a passion for gold, as a currency – he says, “It is the purest form of money.”

He loves hiking in the mountains, and a good glass of red wine with a pizza, is a favourite meal.

He has been married to Elizma for 40 years and they have four children.
